The Prevention of Deformity in Childhood.

The Prevention of Deformity in Childhood. With the expansion of social welfare organization in this country, there has been a rapid increase in the number of workers, and naturally there arises a great need for textbooks for instruction in the various fields. Drs. Raney and Shands have prepared a much needed primer on the prevention of deformity in children. This book is notable because of the many fine illustrations drawn from life. For teaching purposes drawings are definitely superior to photographs, and the casual reader will learn the essential lessons of the text from these illustrations, even though the reading matter is merely scanned. Wherever possible the authors have omitted medical language, providing a glossary of necessary terminology in the back of the book. The simplicity of this book serves admirably its intended purpose in teaching workers who assist orthopedic surgeons in the prevention and correction of childhood deformities. http://www.deepdyve.com/assets/images/DeepDyve-Logo-lg.png American journal of diseases of children American Medical Association
