The George Miller MacKee Chair of Dermatology and Syphilology: Remarks at the Dedication Ceremony at New York University-Bellevue Medical Center

The George Miller MacKee Chair of Dermatology and Syphilology: Remarks at the Dedication Ceremony... Abstract We are met this evening to dedicate a "named" chair of dermatology and syphilology which will perpetuate the fame and the memory of one of our "medical greats," Dr. George Miller MacKee, a former professor of dermatology and syphilology at the New York Post-Graduate Medical School. I will not dwell on his contributions to the advancement of the art and science of medicine as these will be covered later in this program. As a result of a provision in Dr. MacKee's will, and with the enthusiastic concurrence of Mrs. MacKee, Dean Donal Sheehan and I recommended to the Board of Trustees of the New York University-Bellevue Medical Center that there be established at the earliest possible moment the George Miller MacKee Chair of Dermatology and Syphilology in the Post-Graduate Medical School and that Dr. Marion B. Sulzberger be designated as the first http://www.deepdyve.com/assets/images/DeepDyve-Logo-lg.png A.M.A. Archives of Dermatology American Medical Association
