Temporal Bone Preparation by Intralabyrinthine Perfusion

Temporal Bone Preparation by Intralabyrinthine Perfusion Abstract A rapid technique employing modifications of surface and perfusion methods is described for the preparation of temporal bones. Although fine-structure preservation is obtained by aldehyde and osmic acid fixation, the basic advantage is the conventional sectioning and examination of tissues. The capability to incorporate electron microscopy without altering evaluation through light microscopy is also an important feature of the technique. References 1. Abstract

Abstract A rapid technique employing modifications of surface and perfusion methods is described for the preparation of temporal bones. Although fine-structure preservation is obtained by aldehyde and osmic acid fixation, the basic advantage is the conventional sectioning and examination of tissues. The capability to incorporate electron microscopy without altering evaluation through light microscopy is also an important feature of the technique. References 1.
