Abstract Sir.—We read with interest the article by Banco and Veltri1 concerning the ability of mothers to subjectively assess the presence of fever in their children. We also conducted a very similar study in our practice, the results of which we presented at the Western Regional Meeting of the Society of Teachers of Family Medicine in Seattle on Sept 17, 1984.
