It is a concise, well-written, practical book that achieves this purpose. It is a paperbound, easy-to-read book of 228 pages available at an inexpensive price. The high point of this work is its practical approach. There are 24 short chapters on all of the common, and some of the uncommon, sexually transmitted diseases. Dr Noble practices in the field of infectious diseases and is not a dermatologist. Therefore he covers some entities that are not in some dermatology texts, eg, gardnerella vaginalis vaginitis, pelvic actinomycosis, and cytomegalovirus infections. He also covers chapters on prophylaxis and control of sexually transmitted diseases, penicillin reactions, management of anaphylaxis and penicillin skin tests.
