Samter's Immunologic Diseases, vols 1 & 2

Samter's Immunologic Diseases, vols 1 & 2 Although in the midst of a complex process of defining itself as an independent subspeciality, clinical immunology has been vigorously alive and well all these years, and the identification of many a fundamental immunological phenomenon came first from shrewd clinical observations. Small surprise then that a classic like Samter's Immunologic Diseases is back on the bookshelves, now in its 5th edition (following editions in 1965, 1971, 1978, and 1988). Further evidence of the sustained vigor of bedside immunology is the recent appearance of Samter's curiously contrapuntal (1963, 1968, 1975, 1982, and 1993) British counterpart, Clinical Aspects of Immunology, edited by P. J. Lachmann et al (Blackwell, 1993), also in its 5th edition, as well as at least two newcomers: Clinical Immunology, edited by Robert R. Rich et al (Mosby, 1995), and the inaugural number of the Year Book of Allergy and Clinical Immunology (Mosby, 1994), edited by a seasoned team http://www.deepdyve.com/assets/images/DeepDyve-Logo-lg.png JAMA American Medical Association
