Abstract This book is a superb update of the 1989 edition. This is a multiauthored textbook intended for all individuals involved with dermatologic surgery. The book is composed of 8 sections: basic principles, standard procedures, regional dermatologic surgery, surgical management of skin tumors and disease, cutaneous (Mohs) micrographic surgery, cutaneous reconstruction, laser surgery, and cosmetic dermatologic surgery. Seventy-seven adeptly written chapters by 125 experienced authors provide a balanced presentation between the principles and practice of dermatologic surgery. The text is thoroughly and well referenced. The table of contents is complete and encompassing. The accompanying illustrations (more than 1530) and photographs (more than 1100) are quite supportive. The surgical photographs provide a clear adjunct to the text and often assist in performing the technique described.
