I'm sure I am not the only reader of The Archives who turns first to Our Ophthalmic Heritage to see what new nook and cranny of ophthalmic history Mr. Snyder has searched out for us this time. Will it top "The Professor and the Jakes Cleaner" or "The War of an Aggrieved Ophthalmologist?" When the series was inaugurated in October 1961, we all expected to be instructed about the facts and foibles of the past, but hardly as painlessly as Mr. Snyder makes it.I hope the series will continue indefinitely, for Mr. Snyder has yet to deal with "Julius Caesar and the Myopic Gaul" or "Napoleon's Oculist at the Battle of Austerlitz." I trust the articles will eventually be published in book form, and I would like to reserve the first copy. The Correspondence Section welcomes inquiries and comments of a http://www.deepdyve.com/assets/images/DeepDyve-Logo-lg.png Archives of Ophthalmology American Medical Association
