Abstract This small volume is dedicated to the 50th anniversary of the American Registry of Ophthalmic Pathology. It celebrates the very long and successful cooperation between its sponsor, the American Academy of Ophthalmology, and the Armed Forces Institute of Pathology, formerly the Army Medical Museum. The great achievements in ophthalmic pathology that have resulted from this cooperative effort are well known to ophthalmologists and are also worth celebrating. The very distinguished panel of contributors has been drawn largely from the ranks of those who have had some close association with the Registry of Ophthalmic Pathology. Its members have contributed a series of articles which are primarily concerned with pathologic findings but which are of great interest for the clinical ophthalmologist as well. Of particular interest to the clinician will be the chapter by Cogan and Kuwabara, which gives a simple and useful classification of ciliary body tumors. Also of great importance http://www.deepdyve.com/assets/images/DeepDyve-Logo-lg.png Archives of Ophthalmology American Medical Association
