A program drawing on University resources in pediatrics, psychiatry, psychology, preventive medicine, nursing and education, and community projects through public schools (nursery through high school) permits a wide choice in development of skills important to those seeking training for an altered role for the school health service. The one-year or two-year period includes both training and research experiences in the learning process, normal cognitive development, and deviations in relation to the demands made by the educational environment; the climate of the educational system and teacher-pupil interaction; and delivery of school health services.
