Neo-Natal Paediatrics

Neo-Natal Paediatrics The purpose of this volume is to discuss the examination, the clinical problems, and the care of the newborn infant. It is a relatively small book and the amount of information is, in most cases, presented in an abbreviated form. Some subjects, such as the care of the premature infant and the care of the infant with pyloric stenosis, are discussed in detail and outlines of treatment are given. The authors present their opinions about some matters that do not agree with common practice in the United States. The use of thyroid for premature infants is recommended and the routine use of circumcision is stated to be unwise. The book is well written, with adequate illustrations. The bibliography is limited but current. The book summarizes the medical care of the neonate in commendable fashion. http://www.deepdyve.com/assets/images/DeepDyve-Logo-lg.png JAMA American Medical Association
