CALIFORNIA First Q Fever in San Francisco.— Dr. Jacob C. Geiger, director of public health, City and County of San Francisco. on April 20 reported a case of Q fever in a man, a resident of California for three years. Presumably this is the first case reported in San Francisco. The patient was admitted to the San Francisco Hospital, Stanford Medical Service. March 11 and was discharged April 2. He had been in the northern part of California about ten days prior to the onset of his illness. CONNECTICUT Alcohol Studies.— The Summer School of Alcohol Studies conducted by the Laboratory of Applied Physiology of Yale University will hold its sixth annual session from July 9 to August 6.
