Abstract
This is an. elaborate and ambitious study of 120 cases, 101 fatal, of acute, subacute and chronic psychosis, without any abnormal neurologic signs or symptoms but with inflammatory and degenerative microscopic alterations in the brain. Of the 101 fatal cases, forty-four were "primary," nineteen arose in the course of a chronic psychosis, sixteen followed the puerperium, twenty followed various infections, and two were postoperative.
