Laryngoplasty After Total Laryngectomy

Laryngoplasty After Total Laryngectomy Abstract Laryngoplasty is a new surgical technique for vocal rehabilitation after total laryngectomy. It attempts to reconstruct a vibratory mechanism to serve as a sound source for oral communication. The sound source is constructed by creating a pharyngeal fistula and a dermal tube which connects the trachea with pharyngeal fistula. Three types of laryngoplasty have been developed. The indications and other problems are presented on the basis of experience with 72 patients. References 1. Asai R: Laryngoplasty . J Japan Broncho-Esophagological Soc 12:1-3, 1960. 2.
