Kyrle Disease: Treatment With Topically Applied Tretinoin

Kyrle Disease: Treatment With Topically Applied Tretinoin Abstract Successful treatment of Kyrle disease was achieved with topically applied tretinoin. Its effectiveness appears to depend on its ability to increase epidermal proliferation and to impair keratinization. Because of the beneficial results achieved, a hypothesis that keratinization is excessive in comparison with epidermal proliferation may be valid in the pathogenesis of this disorder. References 1. Abstract

Abstract Successful treatment of Kyrle disease was achieved with topically applied tretinoin. Its effectiveness appears to depend on its ability to increase epidermal proliferation and to impair keratinization. Because of the beneficial results achieved, a hypothesis that keratinization is excessive in comparison with epidermal proliferation may be valid in the pathogenesis of this disorder. References 1.
