Intralenticular Hemorrhage Following Iridectomy

Intralenticular Hemorrhage Following Iridectomy Abstract This case of intralenticular hemorrhage following iridectomy for angle-closure glaucoma brings to five the number of case reports of this complication of glaucoma surgery. The blood was present in the anterior cortical layers of the lens in the region of the surgical coloboma. Over a two-month period of observation there was little change in the appearance of the hemorrhage. After extraction of the lens, red blood cells were demonstrated histologically in the lens cortex. It is postulated that the mechanism of this finding is a wound in the lens capsule from surgical injury. References 1.
