Abstract In October, 1961, the University of Michigan School of Public Health conducted a Workshop on Hospital Safety and Sanitation. This publication is a compilation of the papers presented at that Institute, undoubtedly abridged. The purpose of the Institute was to alert hospitals to the needs in the area of safety and sanitation, the hazards of poor safety practices, and methods whereby each hospital may improve its present safety program. The papers are short, seldom exhaustive, but capable of stimulating a motivated person to think seriously about the various aspects of hospital safety. Pediatricians will find one 5-page article on "The Safety of a Child in the Hospital." The sanitation aspect of the Conference is slim—this topic also being dealt with by one 5-page article. Most of the articles have pertinent references for further study. This little volume will be of primary interest to chiefs of medical staffs, members of committees http://www.deepdyve.com/assets/images/DeepDyve-Logo-lg.png American Journal of Diseases of Children American Medical Association
