Abstract The authors of this clinically oriented book are to be applauded for their success with a herculean task: the compilation, digestion, and orderly presentation of the large body of knowledge concerned with genetic disorders of the endocrine glands. Their efforts should be appreciated by pediatricians in particular, since much of the information has not previously been brought together in one place. The great bulk of the clinical material discussed in this book is derived from studies of children. The strength and the ultimate usefulness of the book springs from the carefully referenced compilation of information on specific endocrinopathies and the many pediatric syndromes associated with endocrine disturbances. The spectrum of disorders covered in the book is broad and extends far beyond those afflictions ordinarily discussed in endocrine texts.
