February 2002 Ernst Fuchs, 1851-1930, was a professor of ophthalmology in Vienna, Austria, at the beginning of the 20th century and author of the famous textbook, Lehrbuch der Augenheilkunde, which was published in 18 editions. The bust of Fuchs facing left (Figure 1) is depicted on this uniface bronze plaquette, which is a reproduction of the memorial plaque that graces the lecture room of the first eye clinic in Vienna.
