Abstract In the article "Acid-Base Balance in Cerebrospinal Fluid," by Drs. J. B. Posner, A. G. Swanson, and F. Plum, on page 479 of the May issue of the Archives, the spacing for the symbol for bicarbonate ion is incorrect; this is due to mechanical limitations of the typesetter. The correct symbol should be set with the minus sign directly over the subscript 3. Also, in editing the manuscript the symbol for millimeters of mercury was inadvertently changed from mmHg to mm Hgb. http://www.deepdyve.com/assets/images/DeepDyve-Logo-lg.png Archives of Neurology American Medical Association
