ENTROPION TECHNIQUE AND PRIORITY Abstract To the Editor: In the July 1964 issue of the Archives of Ophthalmology Dr. M. L. Kwitko reported on "A Simplified Treatment for Entropion." In the January 1965 issue of the Archives Dr. Joseph Laval pointed out that this operation is not original, that it is described in the 1950 edition of Meller's Ophthalmic Surgery as Müller's operation and that he has been using it for "many years." Dr. Kwitko's reply to Dr. Laval was that his paper laid no claim to originality.Since Dr. Kwitko was kind enough to say that, "In essence this is a modified version of the Fox technique" and since this seems an excellent fight to get into, I hope that you will allow me to comment also.The trouble is, of course, that both gentlemen are wrong. Resection of a tarsoconjunctival triangle for repair of entropion is not Müller's operation.
