EDITORIAL NOTES. Philadelphia's Death-rate. —The vital statistics of Philadelphia for 1888 furnishes a text for the Medieal Register, which calls attention to the fact that the health of the city has improved, even in the face of a bad sanitary condition. This is accounted for in the exodus of the middle and lower classes to the suburbs which has taken place in the past few years. The death-rate from consumption shows a marked decrease since 1884.
