The newest Dunham's Premature Infants has the same basic pattern as the 2 earlier editions and, like its predecessors, is clinically oriented. Dr. Silverman has wisely kept the proven successful format of the old editions and has nicely brought the contents up to date. The premature infant, its origins, fate, environment, peculiarities, vital statistics, and public health aspects are all well presented, and every medical area which relates to the premature infant is included. The major diseases are presented with clarity, and, in most instances, they are discussed in detail, although some few topics of relatively minor importance or about which there is little information are merely mentioned in passing.
