Abstract The third edition of this excellent text book lives up to the reputation of its predecessor. New chapters have been added on Cat Scratch Fever and on Histoplasmosis and many of the older chapters have been rewritten by collaborating authors to bring them up-to-date. In all, 24 collaborators have contributed to this volume among whom of particular interest to Pediatricians are, Drs. Amos Christie (Histoplasmosis), David D. Rutstein (Rheumatic Fever), Jonas E. Salk (Influenza), G. D. Cummings and W. W. Ferguson (Epidemic Diarrhea of the Newborn), and Warren E. Wheeler (Ophthalmia Neonatorum). From the first plate, an extremely fine color photograph of early measles, throughout the book there is an excellent collection of illustrations and figures.
