Abstract
GENERAL CONCLUSIONS. To cure sacropubic hernia (uterine prolapse), perform amputation of the (sharp) cervix; anterior colporrhaphy; Tait's flap perineorrhaphy.The amputation of the cervix is for the purpose of removing the sharp cervical point; directing the cervix backward; restoring the uterus to normal position.The anterior colporrhaphy is for the purpose of narrowing the vagina; elevating the bladder, directing the cervix backward and the fundus forward.The Tait flap perineorrhaphy is for the purpose of restoring the perineum; restoring the obliquity of the genital canal; restoring such a central floor as will efficiently support the rectum, bladder, and genitals.If the cervix be not pointed and retroversion does not exist amputation of the cervix may be omitted in the above procedure. If the uterus and bladder be in normal position and the vagina not prolapsed, anterior colporrhaphy may be omitted.The permanent success of Tait's perineal flap operation consists in
