Abstract One greets the arrival of a brief compendium in any specialized field of knowledge with a certain trepidation, lest it afford the student a facile escape from more burdensome but more exhaustive works. The Color Atlas of Pathology of the Eye is intended as an introduction both to clinical practice and to ocular pathology, and hence serves as a preview to, but not a substitute for, more sophisticated volumes. The initial portion of the text consists of brief descriptions of the more common clinical entities in ophthalmology, and is correlated with the many colored histopathologic illustrations which follow. This reviewer welcomes the volume as an aid in the teaching of ocular pathology to residents and fellows in training, and commends the book to any who wish to introduce themselves to the realm of ophthalmic histopathology. http://www.deepdyve.com/assets/images/DeepDyve-Logo-lg.png Archives of Ophthalmology American Medical Association
