Abstract The field of immunodermatology has grown by quantum leaps in the last decade. Those physicians wishing to have assimilated advanced information in the area have had a difficult time because of its growing complexity. Their difficulties can now be relieved. Dr Dahl has put together an excellent volume that provides a busy practitioner with a strong base for both current immunologic tools and basic techniques. The book begins on a strong note with chapter 1 providing an excellent overview of the entire immune system. Two prominent features of the book are the glossaries present in each chapter and the useful highlighted segments within each chapter emphasizing its pertinent points. The chapter on immunoglobulins provides a concise presentation of the subject, including important information on immunoglobulin catabolism and antibody assay systems. Dr Dahl's known expertise concerning HLA systems is reflected in the superb chapter on that subject.
