Cellular Aspects of Neural Growth and Differentiation.

Cellular Aspects of Neural Growth and Differentiation. This article is only available in the PDF format. Download the PDF to view the article, as well as its associated figures and tables. Abstract This is an edited transcript of a conference held in 1969 on the highly specialized subject of various influences on cellular neuroembryology. Twenty-three papers with abundant references and discussions are presented by neuroanatomists and biochemists, and such techniques as electromicroscopy, radioautography, tissue culture, and differential centrifugation techniques are prominent. Among the various influences on brain development and differentiation considered are hormonal, particularly thyroid, and certain amino acids as controlling regulators. The editor states in the preface that it was their "collective thought to limit our objectives severely" and to emphasize advances of recent years. This makes for a highly authoritative treatment of very specialized subject matter. Any clinicians wishing a reference on this subject would do well to refer to this volume. http://www.deepdyve.com/assets/images/DeepDyve-Logo-lg.png Archives of Internal Medicine American Medical Association
