BLOOD PRESSURES IN CHILDREN BETWEEN THE AGES OF FIVE AND SIXTEEN YEARS In spite of all the work that has been done to determine what is normal blood pressure for various ages, too little has been done with reference to the blood pressures of children. Several series of children have been studied, but the age groups were rather small for good statistical study. Furthermore, in most instances the work was done by several examiners not always using the same technic. The present study is unique for several reasons. It is based on 25,000 determinations of blood pressure made by one physician with a constant technic and under identical circumstances on 3,580 school children living in a small city. The children have been followed year by year from the age of 5 to that of 16 years. For several hundred children in this series ten or more annual readings of blood pressure were made.
