BELGIUM Medical Inspection of Schools Evidence that we are living in an age of reforms in social medicine continues to accumulate. More and more our legislators are showing their interest in the amelioration of conditions pertaining to professional, industrial and social hygiene. At the foundation of any system of hygiene must be placed all the movements set on foot to protect the health of childhood. The schools must be closely inspected, and it is for this reason that in response to a request from the ministry of arts and sciences the Fédération médicale belge has drawn up a series of desiderata concerning the medical inspection of schools.
