Acute Mitral Regurgitation After Blunt Chest Trauma

Acute Mitral Regurgitation After Blunt Chest Trauma Abstract • We treated a case of isolated acute mitral incompetence due to complete transection of the anterior papillary muscle produced by blunt chest trauma. The excellent results obtained with conservative therapy suggest that this approach be used in other similar cases. The pertinent medical literature is reviewed.
