1910 Blue Book of Surgery. So far as we are aware, this is the first instance of a manual of surgery being issued in the form of a government bluebook. It has been prepared by Dr. McDill, professor of surgery of the College of Medicine and Surgery of the University of the Philippines, for the use of interns, students and nurses, and is the successor of two small pamphlets, one on anesthesia and one on technic, which appeared last year. Surgical and clinical technic, anesthesia, preparation of patients, postoperative care and the treatment of emergencies are discussed in separate chapters. The surgical conditions considered are appendicitis, peritonitis, surgical diseases of the stomach, tetanus, hernia and tubercular adenitis.
