Abstract Recent advances in the techniques of strabismus surgery have created a need for a comprehensive and organized atlas such as the present work. The book begins with a review of the special anatomical considerations that form the basis of rational strabismus surgery as well as the avoidance of complications due to ignorance of the relationships between the structures involved. Every beginning resident should study this section before his first strabismus operation. The book continues with a basic discussion of instruments and materials and reviews the techniques of exposure and actual operations on the individual extraocular muscles. This entire section will be useful to residents, and experienced general ophthalmic surgeons will be interested in the descriptions of the less commonly done operations on the vertically acting muscles. The chapters on diagnosis and surgery of strabismus where there is restricted motility will be interesting to all ophthalmologists who do strabismus surgery. The TI - Atlas of Strabismus Surgery.
