        It is a pity that such an excellent and so well-known a book should have been printed on such thin paper as to cheapen its appearance.
        The long period of time during which the work has been before the public has established its reputation as an exhaustive, learned and valuable contribution to medical literature. The present edition is lacking in none of the characteristics which have made previous editions so popular.
