Their interest might rest on what happens next, namely, after the fire, including recon- struction plans and the insights they provide regarding perceptions of the city; the role of transpor- tation networks in the process; the importance of monuments, vistas, and key buildings; and the daily practices that have shaped city life in the past and continue to matter today and in the future.
