AB -  Journal of American Folklore 126 (2013) has already dramatically affected the style of both flamenco and bodega, making the flamenco less "natural" and more "encyclopedic" (p. 203) and threatening the bodega with annihilation. in the concluding chapter, giguère summarizes the mission of the work as a whole as she addresses concerns about the process of commodification and the damage it may do to the local heritage by removing its intrinsic value while creating a simulacrum of the past. She does, however, hold out hope that Jerez's traditions may be preserved if proper attention is paid to the intrinsic virtues of flamenco and bodega culture. readers in need of resources or references for additional research will not be disappointed by giguère's book. The volume presents a vast amount of relevant data; all in all, it is a useful addition to the study of material and immaterial culture.
