TY - JOUR AU1 - Budziszewska, Nina AB - Abstract: This essay deals with the possibility and the conditions of liberation viewed through the prism of the chariot allegory in Plato's Phaedrus and pre-classical Indian teachings (the Upaniṣads and the Mahābhārata ). Although the vision of Plato differs in some important points from the Indian proposition, the soteriological intuition and its practical dimension stay similar in these two traditions.
