D U N K I N The variety of intravenous anaesthetic agents and supplementary drugs has considerably increased in recent years and it is not uncommon to find that 20-30 different preparations are regularly requested in anaesthetic rooms. Syringe labels are more necessary than ever before, in order to avoid confusion and are now used in many hospitals. Unfortunately a satisfactory range of printed self-adhesive labels can occupy a considerable amount of space on cramped working surfaces. At Newcastle General Hospital a compact container has been designed which accommodates sixteen rolls of syringe labels (Fig. 1). Dunkin these containers, in use throughout the hospital, have proved very satisfactory. The dispensers were designed with the skilful assistance of Mr F. Taylor, Lockhaugh Lodge, Lockhaugh, Rowlands Gill, Co. Durham, from whom supplies may be obtained. The labels are printed and supplied by Harlands of Hull, Springfield Way, Anlaby, Hull.
