Krylov, and G. K. Mikryukov The method of shaping the teeth of forged rollers of drill bits by milling has noticeable shortcomings, viz., the labor involved in the milling operation, considerable consumption of cutting tools, loss of metal in chips, and a decrease in the operational qualities of the bit resulting from the reduction in the sturdiness of the teeth caused by cutting across the metallic grain. The GP and MINKh I. M. Gubkin Lenin Permsk machine construction factory developed a method for hot knurling of roller teeth which is described in the following. The roller blanks, heated by alternating current (2500 Hz) up to a temperature of 1220~ are fed to the rolling zone. All of the roller crowns are rolled simultaneously, by synchronized rotation of two knurling tools and the blank. The roller passes are formed by flanges which limit the flow of metal from the crowns in the axial direction. The relative posi- tions of the knurling tools and the flanges in the lmurling machine correspond to the relative positions of the roller crowns and TI - Investigation of regimes of electrical induction heating of drill bit rollers JF - Chemical and Petroleum Engineering DO - 10.1007/BF01280271 DA - 2005-01-29 UR - https://www.deepdyve.com/lp/springer-journals/investigation-of-regimes-of-electrical-induction-heating-of-drill-bit-zm0DxyrNSI SP - 231 EP - 234 VL - 7 IS - 3 DP - DeepDyve ER -
