AB - GR-2 APPARATUS FOR GALVANIZATION OF THE ORAL CAVITY UDC 615.472 : 616.31-085.844.2 G. D. Shevlyakov and V. A. Ul'yachenko The Volgograd Special Design Bureau of Stomatological Equipment and Electric Motors has developed a table model of an apparatus for galvanization of the oral cavity, the GR-2. The electrical part of the apparatus contains the following main components: power-line stepdown transformer, rectifying semiconductor bridge, ripple RC filter, potentiometric output current regulator, milliammeter, signal bulbs of the polarity of the active electrode, key-driven polarity switch,key-driven electrode terminal, fuse, and power-line switch. The casing of the apparatus is metal; all components are mounted on a metal rack. On the face panel of the apparatus are located the power-line switch, knob of the output potentiometer, milliammeter, key-driven polarity switch of the active electrode, keys for connecting the electrodes, and apertures of the signal bulbs (seeFig. 1). The apparatus is made according to class II protection against injury by electrical current - the metal casing is not grounded during opera- tion. The iastrument set includes electrodes for galvanization of root canals, for conducting procedures on gums (arch-shaped of three sizes and U-shaped), electrode for galvanization of the mucous membrane of the mouth, and a
