Matusovskii Tightening the bolts of the flange connection of the gas valves of a blast furnace is one of the most essential and laborious operations performed during furnace repair. The timely startup and reliable operation of the blast furnace after its repair depends in many respects on the speed and quality of performing this operation. The Kramatorsk Industrial Institute together with the Donbas Hearth Repair Trust developed and introduced at metallurgical plants of the Donbas two-position hydraulic nut wrenches for tightening the bolts of the gas valves. The nut wrench (Fig. 1) consists of a transportable hydraulic plant 1, two ratchet wrenches 2, and stops 3, The casings of the cylinders of the hydraulic ptant are hinged to the stops, and their rods to the levers of the ratchet wrenches.
