AB - Recently, office communication systems have begun to integrate voice recordings into their mail and data communications facilities. The study of usage patterns on one such system shows that voice is used for informal, person-to-person communications, as opposed to the formal content of typed messages. Voice messages are generally sent to fewer recipients (often only one), and sometimes replace face-to-face meetings.
