AB - An all optical joint transform correlator using a nonlinear optically addressed ferroelectric liquid crystal spatial light modulator (OASLM) is presented. A modification of the nonlinearity characteristic is obtained by simply changing such driving parameters as the amplitude or duration of the voltage applied to the OASLM. The role of those parameters in implementing optically the nonlinear step of the correlator has been investigated here.
