TY - JOUR AU1 - OHNO,, Tamotsu AB - Abstract Trajectories of electrons emitted with various initial velocities only from an axial point and an off-axial point on a cathode were calculated for various Wehnelt voltages. When the trajectory arrived the analyzer without being stopped by the apertures, the number of such electrons was counted as a function of the electron energy. The calculated energy distribution was narrower than the Maxwellian near the cut-off. It showed the Maxwellian when only electrons from the axial point arrived the analyzer, while a new peak appeared at the lower energy side when the electrons from the off-axial point entered the analyzer. This result agrees with the experimental result obtained previously using an oxide-cored cathode with an emitting point besides the core. This content is only available as a PDF.
