It is the result of the joint efforts of the englneer-archltects, the con- tractors, the personnel of the nuclear power plants, and the government organizations~ The collaboration of all interested participants was and will be the most important factor in the attainment of successful results. METHODS AND APPARATUS FOR CHECKING URANIUM CONTAMINATION IN VTGR SPHERICAL GRANULES AND PINS N. V. Bogdanov, A. I. Zhavoronko, UDC 62i.039.546:658.562 I. I. Kreindlin, L. V. Matveev, E. A. Strel'chenko, A. S. Chernikov, and A. S. Shtan' A basic specification for VTGR granules and pins is that very low uranium contamination levels are allowed in the coatings [i]. To provide automated monitoring of this~ one needs sensitive and fast apparatus. A method based on recording the a radiation from uranium can be used to monitor contami- nation on graphite fuel pins and on coatings of the granules of thickness 15-20 9m (surface contamination). On the other hand, one can record the 8 particles emitted by the uranium decay products, which have high penetration, in order to monitor contamination ln the gra- phite sheaths of pins over TI - Methods and apparatus for checking uranium contamination in VTGR spherical granules and pins JF - Atomic Energy DO - 10.1007/BF01126061 DA - 2005-01-25 UR - https://www.deepdyve.com/lp/springer-journals/methods-and-apparatus-for-checking-uranium-contamination-in-vtgr-yMuWExZ1bL SP - 514 EP - 518 VL - 61 IS - 1 DP - DeepDyve ER -
