AB - YOSEF BEN SHLOMO is Professor of Jewish Mysticism at Tel Aviv Uni- versity. Among his many publications is Torat ka-Elohul shel R. Moshe Cordovero (1965). H e was also the editor of Gershom Scholem's Ha-Kabbaiah B'Cerona (1964), and has contributed widely to scholarly journals in Israel and America. DAVID BIALE is Professor of Jewish History and Chairman of the Jewish Studies Program at the State University of New York, Binghamton. Among his many publications are: Gershom Scholem: Kabbalah and Counter-History (1979); and essays in leading scholarly journals. JOSEPH DAN is Gershom Scholem Professor of Jewish Mysticism at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem. Among his many publications are Torat ha-Sod shel Hasidut Athkenaz (1968); Jewish Mysticism and Jewish Ethics (1985); an d his forth- coming study of Gershom Scholem to be published by New York University Press. ARTHU R HERTZBERG is Professor of Religion at Dartmouth College. Among his many publications are: The Zionist Idea (1959); The French Enlighten- ment and the Jews (1968); and Judaism (1959). LOUIS JACOBS is Professor of Rabbinics at the Leo Baeck College, London.
