Introduction This paper analyzes the effects of branch impedances of power apparatus, branch lines, etc., on the transmission characteristics of the distributed-parameter power line. This line is used as a c a r r i e r wave transmission line for supervisory control and monitoring of power apparatus connected to a distribution line [ l , 21. The transmission loss caused by branch lines was analyzed in [ 3, 41. However, the analysis in these papers is considerably complicated and the calculated results do not agree s o w e l l with the measured ones. In this paper, we analyze the transmission loss due t o branch impedances by t h e K-matrix method and compare the calculated results with measured ones. 2.
