AB - A UNIT FOR AUTOMATIC WELDING OF INTERNAL AND EXTERNAL CIRCULAR JOINTS OF FITTING CASINGS AND COVERS UDC S. N. Maslennikov In the Aleksin Heavy Industrial Fittings Plant, a unit has been introduced for automatic welding with 3-mm-diam. wire under AN-348 flux of internal and external circular joints of fitting casings and covers 1000-1200 mm in diameter. The unit (Fig. 1) consists of the KD-4 manipulator 2 with the rotation drive 1, the three-jaw faceplate 3, the moveable roller carriage 8 with the catch 7, the modernized A-384 MK weld- ing head 4 with the reel 5 for the weld wire, and the PK-1 rotating column 6. The unit to be welded is placed in the necessary position with the use of the beam of the PK-1 rotating column. With the introduction of the unit there has been an increase in productivity and an improvement in the welders' working conditions. Fig. 1 HARD-ALLOY NOZZLES FOR SHOT-BLASTING UNITS F. M.
