TY - JOUR AB - Reactions 2047, p151 - 22 Feb 2025 Lack of efficacy: case report A 36-year-old-woman exhibited lack of efficacy during treatment with cytarabine and daunorubicin for chloroma of the nasal cavity and paranasal sinus [routes and dosages not stated]. The woman presented with generalized tiredness, nasal stuffiness, headache and neck swelling. A large mass in the right nasal cavity and sinuses were noted. Acute myeloid leukaemia was noted. She was diagnosed with chloroma of the nasal cavity and paranasal sinus. Hence, she started cyclical treatment with cytarabine and daunorubicin. But, after the first cycle, the clinically visible increase in the size of the mass in the nasal cavity and paranasal sinuses, were suggestive of progression of disease, indicating lack of efficacy to cytarabine and daunorubicin. Hence, the woman was decided to give the radiation therapy. The regression in tumour size was noted and clinical improvement was noted following the radiation therapy. Kaavya M, et al.
