AB - TECHNICAL INFORMATION Translated from Metallovedenie i Termicheskaya Obrabotka Metallov, No. 10, pp. 28-81, October, t968 An automatic high-frequency apparatus for quenching and tempering rollers has been installed at the Trakto- rosel'khozzapchast' Plant in Krasnodar by NIITraktorosel'khozmash. The rollers pass from the loading device to an inductor where they are heated to 850~ for quenching, then to a cooling chamber, then to an inductor where they are heated to 450~ for tempering, and then to the assembly line. The rollers are moved by a mechanical device. The equipment is part of an automatic production line for roller chains. This equipment has increased labor productivity by a factor of five as compared to heat treatment in chamber furnaces and improved the working conditions. The annual savings from a single line amounts to 5000 rubies. AUTOMATIC EQUIPMENT FOR QUENCHING AND TEMPERING PLANTER DISCS AND COLTERS An automatic apparatus for quenching and tempering planter discs and colters has been installed at the Kras- naya Zvezda Plant by NIITraktorosel'khozmash. The discs are heated to the quenching and tempering temperatures by high-frequency heating. From the loading device the discs pass into the inductor where they are heated to the quenching temperature, then cooled (in presses),
